In one specific locality near Jamnagar, more than 25 stray dogs lived closely together. The dogs had made their homes in the alleys, corners and even on rooftops. With so many dogs in such a small area, it became clear that their health and the safety of the people nearby were at risk.
That is why our K9 Safe Animal team planned a mass rabies vaccination drive to cover every dog in the neighborhood — all in just one day.
The task was not easy. These were not friendly pets but stray dogs who were often scared or aggressive when approached by strangers. Many ran away quickly or barked loudly when anyone came near. Catching them required a lot of patience, skill and teamwork.
Our team came prepared with nets, leashes, treats and a calm, gentle approach. We moved carefully through the street, working together. Some dogs were familiar with the local feeders and came out cautiously. Others needed to be gently coaxed and encouraged to stay calm so we could vaccinate them safely.
By the end of the day, we managed to vaccinate more than 25 dogs in that one locality. Each vaccination helped protect these animals from rabies and other dangerous diseases and made the neighborhood safer for everyone.
Although the work was tough and took many hours, the results made it all worthwhile. The streets of that locality are now healthier and safer thanks to the care and effort of everyone involved.
At K9 Safe Animal NGO, we believe every dog deserves protection and every community deserves peace of mind. One street at a time, that is how we are making a difference for both animals and people.
